About Contraband
CONTRABAND is a VR screening room for independent films, AI cinema, and documentaries. A shared virtual space where films screen at a set time, for a real audience. With the filmmaker's approval, we convert select titles into true stereoscopic 3D, so a film you've already seen flat can reveal a dimension you haven't seen before. That sound, the sound of a crowd absorbed in the same thing, is what makes cinema feel different from watching something at home.

When legendary game programmer John Carmack decided to move into AI, he asked OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever what he should read. Ilya handed him a list of around thirty works and said that learning them would cover 90% of what matters in modern deep learning.
